Tour of Sogang Buildings Part II
AS YOU APPROACH THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, IF YOU LOOK TO YOUR RIGHT, THERE IS THIS BIG STATUE OF FR. THEODOR GEPPERT S.J. THAT READS 1904-2002. HE APPARENTLY CAME FROM SOPHIA UNIVERSITY IN JAPAN TO LOOK FOR A SUITABLE PLACE TO START A JESUIT UNIVERSITY IN KOREA.
SO ONCE YOU REACH THE END OF THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, YOU NEED TO BASICALLY WALK DOWN A BIT AND THEN YOU CAN CONTINUE DOWN TOWARDS THE ENTRANCE OR TURN LEFT AND HEAD UP. IF YOU CROSS OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE YOU WILL SEE THE STUDENT UNION BUILDING AND AN INFORMATION KIOSK. THERE ARE SEVERAL KIOSKS AROUND CAMPUS.
SO AS YOU CONTINUE UP, YOU WILL HIT AN END WHERE ANOTHER BIG FIELD IS. TURN RIGHT AND YOU WILL SEE A WALK WAY. IF YOU FOLLOW IT, YOU CAN SEE THAT ON YOU LEFT IS K BUILDING.
TO YOUR RIGHT WILL BE THE POST OFFICE AND THREE ATM MACHINE. FURTHER DOWN IS MARY CAFE.
NOW LETS HEAD BACK TO WHERE YOU WERE BEFORE YOU WENT DOWN THE PATH WAY.
ONCE YOU ARE BACK TO YOU ORIGINAL SPOT, IF YOU TURN RIGHT AT THE END OF THE PATH WAY, THERE IS ANOTHER ENTRANCE TO K HALL.
AT THE END OF THE PATH, YOU WILL ALSO SEE THE OTHER FIELD.
LETS NOW CONTINUE ON TO THE FRONT OF THE FIELD. YOU WILL FIND RICCI HALL, THEN ADAM SCHALL HALL, AND RICCI HALL ANNEX. I HAVEN'T BEEN INSIDE SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEIR MAIN PURPOSE IS. SORRY!!!
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FIELD YOU CAN SEE EMMANUS HALL AND ON TOP OF IT IS A STUDENT CAFETERIA. RIGHT NEXT TO IT IS THE LIBRARY, WHICH IS THE WHITE BUILDING.
SO CONTINUE WALKING STRAIGHT AND YOU WILL SEE SOME CONSTRUCTION GOING ON AND TO YOUR LEFT YOU WILL SEE A PARKING ENTRANCE/EXIT.
KEEP GOING STRAIGHT AGAIN AND THEN LOOK TO YOU LEFT. YOU WILL SEE A SOME BUILDING AND A WALK WAY THAT WILL LEAD YOU TO THE LIBRARY, EMMANUS HALL, AND IF YOU FOLLOW IT, YOU WILL END UP AT MATTHEW HALL AND SO ON.
NOW LOOK STRAIGHT AND KEEP WALKING STRAIGHT TOWARDS THE STAIRS. AS YOU COME DOWN, GS25 AND GONZAGA HALL WILL BE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. IF YOU LOOK TO YOU LEFT, GONZAGA PLAZA WILL BE THERE.
Okay, so this concludes my mini tour of Sogang. My next entry will address TRASH!! YUP!! You heard correctly!! Trust me on this, you will want to know how the trash system works in Gonzaga Hall because the last thing you need is a Korean guy to yell at you in Korean about not throwing trash away correctly!!!!! And then feel super embarrassed in front of all the passing students that give you the "stupid foreigner" look. It really sucks so listen carefully!!!! Bye now!!
